Instructions for Applying

Please read all instructions before applying Ai-Wall.

  1. Features

    • Ai-Wall tends to be softer in touch compared to vinyl or other wallpapers, and adopts glue easily.
    • Ai-Wall has natural depressions and impressions (凹凸) from woven like Igusa-straw formations, which makes the underlying uneven surface hardly noticeable.
    • Ai-Wall Size

      Length: 50m (~ 160 feet) Width: 92cm (~ 36 inches)

Please note that Ai-Wall is wider than most other available wallpapers.

    • The front is the rough side (Igusa Straw should be more visible than the other side).
  2. Treatment of the surface to be covered

Treatment of the surface to be covered

    • Please take time and carefully putty the surface to be covered.
    • Apply rust inhibitor or anti-rust on nails and screws.
    • The picture shows the application surface after the rust inhibitor has been applied on the nails and screws on the gypsum board.
    • To avoid the color of the surface bleeding through, try to finish the surface in uniformed or similar color.
  3. Instructions for Application

    • After glue is applied on Ai-Wall, do not pile on top of each other.
    • Apply to the wall or surface within 15 to 30 minutes after the glue is applied. Let Ai-Wall overlap the joining areas. The timing varies depending on the room temperature and humidity. Please contact us if you have any questions.
    • Do not cut the ends, and let it overlap about half an inch. (Ends are intentionally made thinner to allow overlapping which prevents peeling.)
    • The seam will be more inconspicuous if you overlap from the entrance side of the doorway.
    • If covering a large surface or ceiling, make job easier by having helping hands.
  4. Overlapping: Three different ways to do this.

    • Overlap one end on top of the other (15mm to 20mm). Ends are slightly fuzzy.
    • Cut one end and overlap the other end on top.
    • Cut both ends and let them overlap about 5mm to 10mm. It’ll make it easier to adhere, but the thickness may be noticeable.
  5. Repair method

    • Repairing push pin holes
    • Spray a little water on the target area, and the holes will be filled naturally after awhile.
    • Spot cleaning
    • To clean, gently pat the soiled area with a damp cloth towel, and let it dry. You may repeat the process as necessary.
